REGISTER FOR THE EVENT
Contact the Epilepsy Foundation of Connecticut to register for the event at 860-346-1924 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and let them know. Please be sure to share your full name, address (for coordinating the legislative visits), phone number, whether you are a person living with epilepsy or the parent/caregiver of a child with epilepsy, the age of the child (if applicable), and any special needs accommodations you may need. Registration deadline is March 7.
SCHEDULE MEETINGS WITH LEGISLATORS
Each advocacy day participant needs to schedule an appointment with their local legislator between 1:00-3:00 pm on March 22. Once you register for the event we will send you information on how to find your legislator and schedule a meeting. You can find your elected officials at http://cqrcengage.com/efa/StateOfficials.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE EVENT
During the advocacy training, you will learn how to share your story with your legislator. We will provide you with a packet of information with the epilepsy community’s policy priorities to leave behind for each legislator. We also encourage you to write your story to share but limit it to 1 page. After the training we will break into groups for the afternoon meetings with legislators.
