2021 Walk To End Epilepsy in Connecticut Raises $104,000
We are thrilled to announce the results of the 2021 Walk To End Epilepsy In Connecticut. After holding a virtual walk last year, it was so wonderful to return to in-person events and connect with the epilepsy community. We were blessed with beautiful weather for all our walk locations!
Between the 6 locations, we had 64 teams, 920 participants, and because of you, raised $104,000 to support people with epilepsy in Connecticut! It was so inspiring to see the support for this event!
We would like to congratulate the top fundraising team, C4C Team Alex, who brought in $5,105! Bridge to Cure and Max: The Amazing Race were the 2nd and 3rd place fundraising teams and raised $4,424 and $3,730 respectively for our cause. We would like to thank all teams who utilized their fundraising page to help people with epilepsy. There were 57 teams who raised money and 18 that raised more than $1,000. Kudos to you all!
We would like to thank all the sponsors of this event: Greenwich Biosciences, SK Life Science, Liva Nova, Eisai, UCB, Sunovion, Hartford Healthcare Epilepsy Center, Neurelis, UConn Health, Medtronic, AJP Electric, Amity Youth Lacrosse, The Blaine Family, People’s United Bank, Tolland Lions Club, Housatonic Valley Well Pump Services, Cahill Septic Service, Stew Leonards, Banner Water, and Greenwich Moffly Media.
We are very grateful to Middletown Mayor Ben Florsheim for welcoming the attendees at the Middletown location, State Rep. Caroline Simmons and Stamford Mayor David Martin at the Stamford location, State Rep. Mary Welander at the Orange location, State Rep. Tammy Nuccio at the Tolland location, and State Rep. Mike Demicco at the Farmington location. We thank Denise Brower, Peggy Morin, Dr. Jennifer Madan Cohen, Emma Borys, Sophie Kudler, Angela Siefert, Alisha Nappi and Marisol Sales Heenie for speaking at one of the locations and sharing their stories about epilepsy and how it has impacted their life.
Finally, thank you so much to the location leaders who made this event possible: Stacey Hathaway, Rachel Talmadge, Laura Cassenti, Tim Bishop, and Martin Levine. We would also like to thank the numerous volunteers who helped on the day of the event at each location. Without these volunteers, these walks could not run so smoothly. We are so grateful to you all!
We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at next year’s events!
