I started this team to celebrate the strength displayed by me and the members of my epilepsy community every day. I was diagnosed with absence seizures at the age of 9 and despite medications, surgery (VNS), and alternative interventions they remain uncontrolled. Moving into adulthood I began to experience tonic clonic seizures as well which has been the scariest part of this journey thus far. I aspire to live in a world where epilepsy doesn't exist, where life can be manageable for my community until then, and where all stigmas surrounding the illness can be broken.
